A COOK MEMORIAL.
( UNVEILED AT SIMP COVE. ) Per Press Association. Blenheim. Tuesday. I A great amount of public interest I was taken in the unveiling of the Captain Cook monument at Ship Cove today. _ The ceremony took place at midday, in the presence of ji large eon- ' course of people, wholly representative of Marlborough, and a large number of 'excursionists from Wellington. The function was performed by' the Governor, and other speakers were Messrs. Fisher. Bell. li. McXab. ..John Duncan, chairman of the Memorial Committee, and P. McCallnm. M.P. for Wairau. The Governor's party landed from the Tutanekai. Excursion steamers ran from Wellington and Picton, and the Amakura was in the Cove, the boys having assisted in the arrangements! Fine weather prevailed.
