President .Madero is now fortilied with a strong detachment of regular troops in the Xational Talace, while General Felix Diaz, with a large majority of the regulars has virtual control of the capital. The army revolted to-night, taking possession of the public buildings. the President fled to the Palace, which he succeeded in defending from (lie revolutionists' assaults. President Madero, relying on the loyalty of General BlaiKpiet, summoned him from Tolnca with 1000 soldiers. The attack on the city started this morning, when General Mondragou and the students of the military school led the rebels to the prison, freeing Kelix. Diaz, a nephew of the deposed President and General Gernado Reyes, former Secretary of War. Advancing, the rebels were met by President Madero. commanding 1000 police and cadets from the artillery barracks. The rebels were defeated after a sanguinary battle. The plaza was strewed with the bodies of men and horses. Two hundred were killed. The engagement was followed by the surrender of the regular artillery and tropps, and the rebellion of a majority of the Government soldiers. General Reyes was killed, and the President retired, fighting three engagements en route. General Gregorio Ruiz and five officers were executed by the President's orders.
