FATAL FIRE.
TWO CHILDREN BURNED TO DEATH.
On a recent Sunday morning a dreadful fatality at Waitanguru (Ratanni), when two of Mr. Walter Jones' boys were burned to dentil in their home, which was completely destroyed by fire (says the Kawhia Settler).' On the morning, in question, Mr. Jones, who is one oE the largest suppliers to the Marokopa factory, left the house, in which his two small boys were sleeping, for the milking yard, accompanied'• by his wife, everything apparently being safe, with nothing unusual to indicate approaching danger. The yard being some distance away, and the homstead hidden from view, it was not till volumes of smoke arose thai the parents were warned that their home was being consumed by the consuming element. Hastening to the spot, they found the dwelling completely enveloped in flames, and, notwithstanding their efforts, nothing could be done to save the children, who perished with the fallen building.
