Received 7, 10.10 p.m. Melbourne, February 7 A bush lire devastated the villas settlement at Monlmlk and destroyed fifteen houses. The Mechanics' Institute and the State School were damaged. Other fires on the Beaconsfield ranges swept several adjacent farmers' estates Fires elsewhere included outbreaks at Willowgrove. Foster. Walhalla and Maffra.
