PROGRESS OF DISPUTES. Sydney, February 1. The Barrier Labor Federation at Broken Hill is taking a referendum among the unions whether to refuse to work with unionists. The North Coast .Steamship Company and the Merchant Service Guild have arrived at a working agreement. TROUBLE IX SYDNEY. Sydney, February 1. Two hundred and fifty men were dismissed at a minute's notice from the Government dockyard at Cockatoo Island, which tlie Commonwealth takes over to-day. It is stated that the men will shortly be re-emploved at the new works which will be established at Newcastle by the New South Wales Government. Till-: WAITERS' STRIKE. New York, February i. The wajters are resuming work after the strike, having lost their demands.
