INT ERXAL DISSENSION. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, February ]. The directors of the Williams Amusement Company tarried a motion dispensing with the services of 11 r. .). D. Williams, managing director, from today. The duties will be assumed by Mr. W. D. Miller. In a published statement. Mr. Williams contends that the directors have 110 power to dispense with his services, as that can only be done by a two-thirds vote of a general meeting of shareholders. In July last one director suggested to liirn that a Royal Commission should enquire into the affairs of the company. Mr. Williams agreed that this was the best course. Another director, however, said that such a course would he foolish. A few days later the directors declared a dividend of Is (id per share despite his opposition. Mr. Williams says the dividend helped the course of the present Stock Exchange panic, because it swallowed up the company's ready cash.
ARREST OF WILLIAMS. Received 2, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, February 2. A sensation was caused in the city on Saturday afternoon by the arrest of ■Tames Dixon Williams, late, managing director of the Greater J. D. Williams Amusements Company, on a charge of harboring and assisting Frank Lloyd, who was arrested last Monday in Auckland on a charfre of forging an order for the purchase of 150,000 of the company's shares. .
