Sheep.—North Island nominal, best brands, 4%d; Australian ewes, 3y 2 d. Lambs.—Canterbury, old season light, 5%d, medium 5%d, both nominal; Australian best brands, 5%d, fair 5 l-6d, inferior 4%d. Beef.—Australian hinds,, 3J4d; River Plate, frozen hinds, 3%d. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable advices from London: "Compared with the opening series, prices for coarse greasy crossbred arid medium greasy crossbred show a slight improvement. Americans are buying freely."
