SITTER... t;'i\ By Telegraphs-Press •'.■<)• ,''' 'At the Anglican Genera) Synod lifts afternoon the following resolutions,, at-, tached to the report of the BpardNiaf Theological Studies, were adopted:-—(f} That in order to meet the expenditure of the board the dioceses be assessed for, the next three years' *t £IOO peV&nnunij (2) that for each of the next three years the sum of £SO_ be set aside by the General Church Trust to* provide' ,- exh,ibjl Itiona if required for candidates foj holy orders, who shall pass grade Hl.| subject to the regulations drafted by the Board; (3) that the following be nominated as members of the ..Board: Archdeacons Richards and H.v W. Williams, the Revs. H. T. ! Purchas," 3l R. Wilford, A. M. Johnson and F. G. Harvie; (4) that the Synod desires t«rp?ace' on record its high appreciation of the services rendered to the Church-by the" Rt. Rev. P. Wallis, D.D., in connection with the Board of Theological Studies, which has benefited largely by his enthusiasm; and, further, Synod extends to Bishop WaHis' its heartfelt sympathy with him in his con : tinued illness, and prays that be restored to such strength as will enable him to resume his work.
A motion expressing, satisfaction .that Bishop Neligan's health was largely restored was carried. " '
The Wanganui Church authorities were empowered to sell the present site,: and with the proceeds purchase another in the Avenue.
On the recommendation of the'ttommittee of Trusts the General Synod authorised the Dunedin Diocesan TrusJ B.oard to exchange with the City tnin lands on which to erect a cathedral.
