THE NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telsgraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the Wellington Centre of' the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association the following resolution was adopted, and will be referred to the New Zealand Council for consideration: "That the granting of medals for first and second places in championships is out of date, jmd the Wellington Centre urges the following method of awarding prices: Championship winners to have the option of selecting either the customary gold medal or a certificate and trophy to the value of £2 2s, such option to he exercised within one week, or it will be presumed that the winners favor a certificate and trophy. Seconds in championships to receive a certificate only." It was decided that the handicap events for the New Zealand championships, to be held, in Wellington on February 15, be 220 yards and one mile.
