UNIVERSITY SENATE.
EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday, When the University Senate resumed a discussion took place on a proposal by the professorial conference in regard to the abolition, within the next five years, of external examinations, for degrees in Arts, which was rejected by 17 votes to six, those in favor being Professors Huntei, Hight, J, It. Brown, Rev. Mr. Evans, Mr. Hogben and Sir Maurice O'Rorke.
