THE MARCONI CONTRACT. Ev Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, January '22. The Manchester Guardian states that until India and the self-governing Dominions, who are parties to the eontract, have jointly agreed to waive their rights, the Marconi Company cannot be released from its agreement. Mr. W. R. Lnvson, financial journalist, in giving evidence before the Marconi Committee, said that instead of purchasing the Marconi wireless system at a fair price, the Government, by agreement. placed the Post Office in the hands of jiatent exploiters, which struck a deathblow to British progress. With regard to the long-distance wireless negotiations being carried on by the Secretary for the Post Office, not a single independent authority had been consulted.
