A BLIGHT SPECIFIC.
WHAT A LOCAL RESIDENT CLAIMS. Blight lms from time to time wrought sad Imrue amongst the potato and tomato crops of the Dominion, and some time ago the Government offered a bonus for the discovery of either a preventive of the disease or for a means of coping with it once it appears. A New Plymouth resident (Mr. Jaine? Way) claims to have discovered a specific possessed 01 these qualities, and which can. In says, be applied with equal success to tomato plants, grape vines, or potatoes. Mr. Way attributes the flourishing condition of his tomato plants and grape vines and their abundance of fruit to the use of his formula, which, he affirms, is composed of several different cheap ingredients, easily applied, and capable of acting in the dual capacity of a blight preventative and a fertiliser. Referring to the test lie liad applied to hie own tomatoes, he says that two days or so after they had been sprayed there was n change in their appearance, the blight disappeared, and they made excellent growth. The same results, he claims, were achieved as a result of the treatment of his potatoes and his grape vines. Mr. Way, who Rays that the specific is also a cure for the kelson curly blight in tomatoes, intends to communicate with the Government with the object of securing the afore-mentioned subsidy.
