At the Anglican General Synod the Bishop of Auckland reported that the Bench of Bishops had arrived at a decision re the iMarsden Memorial Centenary It was proposed to establish a fund of £20,000 to foster religious edu- ' cation in the province. The objects inyear, if necessary, for three years, for Bible in Schools movement; (2) for i training and payment of a guild of teachers for religion in schools; (3) for helping to found church secondary boarding schools for the Maori and the pakeha;, (4) such other purposes a® commission deem to he connected with religious education. The above suggestions were adopted. A motion of thanks was accorded to 1 Miss < Reve S. Selwyn for a gift to the province of valuable historic documents. It was decided to place them in. the Cathedral Library at St. John's College, Auckland. , It was decided to hold the next General synod in Christchurch, commencing' on Wednesday, May 3, 1916. An amendment to hold the synod at Norfolk Island was withdrawn.
