Betts. president of the Port Pirie branch of the Masons and Bricklayers' Union, who was shot at Broken Hill by a stranger, refused to make a deposition, on the plea that he was not dying. He is now too ill to make a statement. He admitted having received an anonymous letter, hut declined to reveal its content?.
