She desired to fortify her iiillucnce at Sofia by procuring Adrianople for Bulgaria. France and Britain supported the Russian initiative, to which Austria and Germany adhered reluctantly, wishing to prevent antagonism between the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance, but succeeded in eliminating forcible coercion. The Reiehpost says that Russia is constructing an extensive entrenchment on the left bank of the Vistula. THE ROUMANIAN DEMANDS. Bucharest, January 10. In view of alarmist reports it is officially announced that the negotiations with Bulgaria are proceeding normally, and uneasiness is not justified. SERVIAN STEAMER FIRED AT. Belgrade, January 16. Austrian troops fired, damaging a Servian cargo boat opposite Semendren. THE COLLECTIVE XOTE. | TO BE PRESENTED TO-DAY. ' Received 18,. 12.20 a.m. -Sofia, January 17. King Ferdinand and the Cabinet held a council of war at MustafTa and decided to resume hostilities if the collective Note is rejected. Constantinople, January 17. The delay in the delivery of the eollrctive Xote is supposed to be due to the German Ambassador not having received instructions. Reuter states that the instructions have now been received, and the Xote will be presented to-day.
