Xiclsen, in a letter dated San Francisco, December 7. to the, Yass electors, announces that lie lias ceased to represent them. llis resignation will take effect from January 15. It is in the hands of Speaker Willis. He gives as reasons for his resignation a disagreement witli hi s party on a viLal matter. He has decided to retire from politics. It. is supposed that Mr. Nielsen's letter is amongst the Speaker's unopened correspondence at Parliament House, and it cannot be opened or the seat vacated till Mr. Willis returns from New Zealand. There is comment in Liberal circles on Mr. Willis departing when lie knew that the resignation was in transit.
