THE REEFTON FIRE.
A JUDICIAL ENQUIRY. By Telegraph—'Press Association. Eeefton, Last Night, . The inquiry into the fire at MeMahon's stables was resumed. P. Reilly, who, it was said, offered Comedian for sale, and' who left the hotel to visit Comedian's stall early on the morning; of the fire, deposed that he knew Toothing from the time he arrived 'at Reefton till Saturday, when ho left. His mind was a perfect blank. - ; T. White, Hokitika. stated that he heard from a third person that whatever stall Armstrong was in would have been burned. He could not remember the name of the person who _this. Armstrong's owner and the 'trainer of another horse had bad feeling between them. This was some years-ago. Other witnesses gave unimportant evidence, though tending to show thfe suddenness of the rise of the fire. 1 : The jury after some time in retirement in the fire enquiry brought in a verdict with, one dissentient, of '"Wilfully set op fire by some person or persons miknown."
