The weather was unfavourable to-day for the cricket match between the South Melbourne team and 22 representing the Central District Association. Heavy rain fell over night, and before play started a hailstorm was experienced. South Melbourne made 189 in their first innings (Giller 63, Kyle 34, Kenney 33). The Central Districts made 154 for 17 wickets in their second innings (F. Fisher 51, R. Edie 22, C. Edie 16), The innings was then declared closed, leaving the visitors to get 97 to win. The visitors made 94 for 4 wickets (Scott 37, Deas 29) and the match was, therefore drawn.
