ANTWERP WOOL SALES. London, January 9. At Antwerp 2879 hales of wool were offered and 2001 sold. There was a numerous attendance of English and German buyers. There was a general advance of 5 per cent, and fine crossbreds,advanced 10 per cent.

NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT.
On Friday, 3rd inst., I had a fair entry in my Rahotu yards, and, considering the sale being h/ld on an off-day> there was a good attendance of buyers. Competition throughout was very keen, all stock se'iling at advanced rates, as folIcws:—Grade 15 to 18-months heifers from £3 7s to £4 5s (for a very nice line), 18-months steers (with a bit of color) £3 10s, and £3 17s 6d was obtained for a pen of well-grown Shorthorns; fat cows £5 8s 6d to £5 16s, forward stores £4 4s to £4 18s 6d, bulls £2 4a to £3 Is, springing heifers £4 ■ss to £5 12s 6d. At Stratford on Tuesday, 7th mst., there was only a small yarding, but a very large attendance of buyers from all parts. Bidding throughout was brisk, everything being cleared during the day at the following rates: Eighteenmonths 'heifers (empty) £3 8s 6d to £3 lis, 18-months heifers (r.w.b.) £3 15s Gd to £4 7s, springing heifers £5 12s 6d to £6 12s Gd, bul'is £3 to £5, store cows (small or aged) £2 7s 6d to £3 10s, forward cows £4 13s 6d to £5 3s, fat cows (in demand) £5 10s Gd to £0 Bs. A small pen of Shorthorn mixed weaners realised £1 14s.
On Wednesday, Bth inst., at Stony River, there was only a small entry, which sold as follows:—Two-year steers £4 4s to £4 ss, 2y>-year heifers in calf £4 4s M to £5 2s Cd, fat heifers £5 ss, fat cows £5 2s to £5 10s, bulls £2 5s to £5 2s Gd, store cows £3 18s to £4 ss.

MATTHEWS. BENNETT & CO.'S REPORT. .Matthews. Bennett and Co. report that there was a poor yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. There was a good attendance of buyers and competition was keen, every lot changing hands. There was a big enquiry for bulls, and farmers having any to dispose of would do well to bring them in at once. We quote: Bulls £5 to £O. springers £5 to £S ss, 20-montlis steers £4 lis, weaners £1 10s to £1 15s Cd.
SOUTHERN MARKETS. ADDIXCiTON. At Addington live stock market wethers realised from 12s (id to 15s lOd, ewes )0s to ICs, lambs 9s to 14s sd. Eat lambs—Freezing lambs made His Od to IDs (id for ■prime, to 21s 7d for extra, and 14s to 15s for lighter weights. Fat sheep—Prime wethers 10s Od to 23s Od, lighter 13s fid to 10s, prime ewes 15s (id to 225, others 12s Gd to 9s to 12s, merino wethers 9s to 17s 3d.
Fat cattle—Values ranged from 23s to 31s per 10011). Steers made £8 to £ll, extra to £l3 12s fid, heifers £0 5s to £0 7s Od, cows £5 12s (id to £9 17s 6d. Store cattle—-Yearlings realised 35s to £2, 15 to 18-months£3 5s to £3 17s (3d, two-year steers £5, two-year heifers £4 2s to £4 2s Od, three-year heifers £6 2s to £6 ss, dry cows £1 10s to £4, Eleven head of cows made £ 5 2s Od, and four head £fi 7s 6cl each. Dairy cows were in good demand, and sold at £4 to £ll 17s (id, and extra to £l3 ss.
Pigs—Choppers realised 4os to 82s Od, heavy baconers 52s 6d to (ills, lighter sorts 4fis (o 50s, these, prices being equal to 4y s d per 'lb. Porkers were in over supply, with the result that towards the close of the sale there was a slump in values. The best descriptions made 37s Bd to 445, and lighter sorts 30s to 35s (equal to 5d to 5%d during the early part of the sale, and 4%d to 5d towards the close). Store pigs were penned in medium numbers, but the entries were confined to medium and small sorts, no large animals being o/l'ered. There was good demand, more especially for the, better sorts. Prices ranged from- 22s to 28s. , Weaners, of which
there was a comparatively small yarding, realised 14s to 20s. At Burnside best bullocks made £l2 to £l3. extra to £l3 10s, m'edium £lO 10s to £ll 10a, others to £lO. Fat sheep—Prime wethers 20s to 225, extra to 24s 6d, medium and unfinished 17s 6d to 20s, others to ITs. best ewes18s to 21s, extra to 235, others to 17s. Fat lambs—Prices showed a decline of Is Od to 2s, as compared with last sale. Prime, to 18s 6d, best 16s to 17s Od, others to 14s. Pigs—Baconers £2 8s to £3 3s, porkers £1 15s to £2 ss, slips 22s to 255, suckers las to 18a. JOHNSONVILLE. At Johnsonville the usual entry of beef, consisting of fair quality bullocks, sold readily at prices ranging from £lO 10s to £ll 7s Od for best and £9 to £lO for the balance. A good entry of sheep went with keen competition, wethers making 18s 4d to 18s Bd, heavy ewe 9 17s 8d to 18s Bd, other ewes 15s 2d to 16s 2d, tight ewes 13s 2d to 14s, best lambs 14s Od to 16s 3d, medium lambs 12s 3d to 13s.
