COWS POISONED. By Cable—Press .A-Lf)ii<i-.)!i. January 8. Twenty-one cows have been poisoned with arsenic at Billingford. Twelve died and the condition of six others is .serious. There is no clue as to the perpetrator. A HEAVY SENTENCE. London, January 8. Bowles, shot Sir E. Pv. Henry, Commissioner of the London Police, has been sentenced to fifteen years' penal servitude. The Commissioner appealed for leniency. H.M.S. TORCH. London, January 8. Mr. W. Churchill, replying to Major M. Archer She". M.P.. A wall collapsed and destroyed a house occupied by several families. Twelve persons were kilhd. including Mrs. Claire Buxton, of London, and several people were injured. AN INDIAN OUTRAGE. Delhi, January S. I Robbers at Jobore hacked Mr. Oakley, I manager of a Radenak rubber estate! with an axe. Oakley's injuries proved fatal.
