North-Eastern railwaymen at New-eastle:on-Tyne and Gateshead, as a protest against the engine-driver Knox's second suspension, have adopted dilatory methods of working, adhering strictly to the rules, their methods being simi'iar to those adopted in the Italian strike of 1005.

Replying to a trade union deputation urging that the Trade Unions Bill should be expedited to secure the advantage of a Parliamentary Act, Mr. Asquith was sympathetic. The matter, he said, was simply one of time. He would consult with his colleagues.
