Dr, Alfred Russel Wallace, interviewed, said that the continual increasing of workers' wages was the most beneficial thing for any country. Britain was the. richest country in the world, yet the bones of starvation were clanking and rattling. He continued: "We do nothing except say with a shrug of the shoulders, 'Let 'em starve.' The accumulation of 'Wealth is criminal, .but the problem would >be solved if we legislated that the unborn should not have rights, then the State would become the inheritor, and make ample provision for the heirs."'
