THE SUMNER FATALITIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Efforts to find the body of the young man Hate-hard, who was drowned at Sumner early yesterday morning, have so far failed, and there are at the present time unrecovered the bodies of the victims of three drowning tragedies at Sumner during the past week. ANOTHER GUN ACCIDENT. Wellington, Monday. Dorothy Campion, aged 10 years, residing at Waikanae, was accidentally shot by her brother. He was playfully handling a gun, not knowing it wag loaded, when the weapon exploded, the contents entering the girl's side and killing her almost immediately. SUICIDE BY SHOOTING. Thames, Monday. Frederick Jackson, an elderly man, who had resided at Puru for many years, committed suicide yesterday. He shot himself in his head with a revolver. Some campers heard the shot and found deceased alive, but. he expired before medical aid was available. He had a paralytic stroke some time back and had been despondent.since. AN OLD MAN'S DEATH. Thameis, Monday. Frederick Arns, an old resident of Thames, wlio received injuries by being struck by a racehorse at the local meeting, died in the hospital. He never regained consciousness. l A FATAL ACCIDENT. Auckland, Monday. Thomas Niccol. aged 28 years, while at work on machinery conveying sacks from Auckland Gas Works to the outside heaps was entangled in the machinery and killed. Others working near heard his cries of agony and stopped the machinery. Niccol had been practically disembowelled and died half an hour later. He was a single man, and was formerly a resident of Sydney.

A DROWNING FATALITY. Auckland, Last Night. Advice was received to-day by the police from Mercer that a lad named Frederick Cleplinne was drowned in the Waikato River on Sunday. Deceased and a companion were on the river in a canoe, and owing to the craft capsizing they were precipitated into the water. Clephane's companion succeeded in swimming ashore. Deceased was only just learning to swim, and sank after swimming about ten or twelve yards. The body was recovered about an hour afterwards. Clephane was IS years old. His parents are very well known residents of Churchill.
