A VISIT TO THE THAMES. Ey Telegraph—Press Association. Thames, Last Night. The Hon. W. H. Herries and Hon. W. Frasor arrived at the Thames this evening. Mr. Eraser inspected tlie Government pumping plant which is draining the low level cross-cut, subsidised by the Government. He also attended to other matters connected with the industry. The Ministers were entertained at an informal dinner, after which they met various deputations, recommending a railway across the Hauraki Plains and also roading the same and opening up a large area of unoccupied mining land for pastoral purposes, etc. The Ministers were to leave the Thames to-mor-row for Wailii, Ifa.tikati, and Tauranga. THE MINISTER FOR JUSTICE. Tnvereargill, Last Night, The Hon. A. L. Henlmaii, Minister of Justice, arrived in Tnvereargill on Saturday, and visited the Bluff to-day. He visited the reformatory, where the system of treatment and working of the institutions was fully explained to him. He also visited Otatara to view the area it is proposed to reclaim from that direction. Before his departure for the North to-morrow morning the Minister will 'be waited on by a deputation from the Prisoners' Aid Society, and another from the Southland Law Soeietv.
