Giving evidence before the Marconi Inquiry Commission. .Mr. Gaudie. representative of Poulsen's -vstem. said they were not given an opportunity, and could have tendered cheaper than Marconi,' with lower cost of working. He admitted the Poulsen's system had never been tested for distance- over 20<>0 miles.
FURTHER EVIDENCE. Received January 3. 10..10 p.m. London. January 3. Gaudie. cross-examined, said that lie was unable to get information from the Government to enable liini to lender, but •before making a general offer he was informed that the stations would be two thousand miles apart. It was al-o untrue that Marconi got tin- contract. Pressed to name his informant, witness replied, "Sir W. Hall-Jone-."
