Many people will regret to hear «f the death of Mrs. Duncan MaeGregor, widow of the late Dr. MaeGregor, (Inspector of Hospitals). Mr. William Parkersun, an old resident of Woodville, died on Tuesday evening, aged 78 years. In the early days deceased' was a squatter in the Gisborne district.
The death is announced in the London Tablet of the Right Rev. Mgr. Canon Luck, V.G. Mgr. Luck who died at St. Mary's East Hendred, Berks, was an elder brother of the late Bishop Lucky of Auckland.
Upon enquiry at the Hawera Hospital yesterday the Star ascertained that there was a slight improvement in the condition of Mr. Butter worth, seriously injured in the Normanby motor car accident on New Year's Dav.
The Hon. C. E. Frazer, Commonwealth Postmaster-General, had, a conference in Wellington yesterday with the Hon. R. H. Rhodes regarding wireless telegraphy and matters of common interest to Australia and New Zealand. Views were exchanged, but nothing definite was decided upon. Mr. Frazer left by the Main Trunk express for the North, lie will include Rotorua in his itinerary.
Mr. William Lindsay Christie died at Dunedin yesterday, aged seventy-three years. He was born at Montrose, Scotland, and came out to Otago in the ship Stanley in 1854 with his parents. He was engaged in farming at the Taieri until 1874, when he began to work the coal mines owned by him aiul his brother, Mr. David Christie, at Saddle Hill. The deceased' w.as for twenty years a member of the East Taieri volunteers, and wag a prominent marksman in his day (gold medallist).
