CYCLING.
THE LONG DISTANCE RACE. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, January 2. The cyclists, in 72 hours, covered 1842 miles. There was great sprinting for the prize for the first past the thousand miles. JJcXamara (New South Wales) won, and the men settled' back to a steady pace. The position is unaltered. Received 3, 1.10 a.m. Sydney, January 2. In the cycling race the leaders after eighty-seven hours have covered 1215 miles. The positions are unaltered from two hundred miles behind the corresponding period of last year's race.
