At the end of 24 hours they had covered 429 miles. Seven, teams, including the New Zealanders. who are together with tJhe others, are a couple of laps behind. They have made several fine, but unavailing, sprints to recover the lee-way. A strong ■ wind interfered with the riding. Sydney,. January 1. In the six days' cycle race 626 miles was covered in forty hours. The seven leading teams iuelude New Zealand's two teams. One is one lap and the other two laps behind. Received 1, 9.45 p.m. Sydney, January 1. , At the end of sixty hours the cyclists' had covered 904 miles, 118 behind last year's race.

RIOT AT THE SIX DAYS' RACE. Sydney, January I. In the aix days' cycle race the cyclists covered 732 miles at the end of 48 hours. Their positions were unaltered earlv this morning. Owing to the competitors loafing and refusing to increase the apeed the referee threatened to end the race,,and turned out the track lights. The crowd rushed the oval and hooted the riders. The officials were also threatened. The police cleared the ground, the lights were restored, and the teams took the warning and increased the pace.
