FIREMEN WANT MORE PAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, "fuesdUy. Some excitement was created this forenoon at Port Chalmers when the sailors and firemen refused to sign tne articles to proceed to Oamaru for the Now Year excursion in the Mourn. The shipowners offered 20s for the trip, and when the crew learned the amount they tijen declined to sign the articles, and walked out of the shipping office, demanding 30s. After a time the men sigfled on, and it was elicited that the Union Company had agreed to pay 30s for the trip.
