Advices from Nigeria report that the British commissioner has stamped out the recrudescence of long juju rites. Several chief priests «w condemned to death, hut the chief Kamick-uru, «ie arch conspirator, escaped with three years' imprisonment owing to inability to fasten a murder charge on to him. Three thousand slaves, victims of juju, were found hiddwi near Kan-uckuru's compound. Kanuckuvu amassed half a million sterling from the slave traffic.
