THE CORINNA DELAYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Monday. The Corinna, having got the necessary complement of liremen, left this afternoon for New Plymouth and Onehunga. The vessel was obliged to leave Wellington out as a port of call.
BADLY CONTROLLED CHILDREN. Wellington, Monday. The Education Department is carrying into effect a scheme, outlined in the Budget, under which juvenile delinquents not under sufficient parental control may be placed by a magistrate under the supervision of a responsible officer. The officials who are appointed to act in that capacity are:—Wellington, Mr. Mills, of the Presbyterian Orphanage; Christchurch, Mr". Rule, social service agent of tlie Presbyterian Church; Dunedin', Mr. Axelson; Auckland, Mr. Shell, formerly missioner to seamen, Wellington. '
DUNEDIN CATHEDRAL FUND. Dunedin, Monday. The Stat has raised the £2OOO necessary to obtain the grant of £2OOO by a donor for the Anglican Cathedral building fund. The anonymous donor, it is today announced, is William Dawson, a well-known brewer.
