Yarwood was fined £100; sentence on Marsh was deferred, depending on other charges.
ESPIONAGE. ' Berlin, December 29. Koehler, a draughtsman at Cassel, has been arrested for having attempted to sell a drawing of airship telemeters to Britain and Russia.
A CHARGE OF FORGERY. St. Petersburg, December 29. Ae a result of the assassination of M. Stolypin, General Kuljabks has been sentenced at Kieff to sixteen months' imprisonment for neglectful administration of the police fund and forgery of vouchers.
THE FRENCH PRESIDENCY. N Paris, December 29. Much interest ,is attached to the rivalry between Messieurs Ribot and Poincaire for the Presidency. They will meet to-morrow. M. Clerneneeau supports the candidature of M. Ribot.
SLEEPING SICKNESS. Capetown, December 20. Several eases of sleeping sickness have been reported at Salisbury.
WRECK OF A STEAM EK. London, December 29. Thy Danish steamer Volner foundered. The captain and a sailor were picked up off the Lizard, after two days' suffering in an open boat. Thirteen mas were drowned.
WORKMEN'S HOME BURNED. St. Petersburg, December 29. A workmen's home at Moscow has been burned down and fourteen persons burnt to death.
AN AXE-CHOPPING RECORD. Melbourne, December 30. Charles Miley chopped a 12in log in 25 3-ssec, beating the world's record by 2-SseC.
