BIG BRISTOL SCHEME.

PROJECTED "EVELOPMENT IN NEW ZEALAND TRADE. The Hon. Thomas Mackenzie, High Commissioner for Now Zealand, aiul Mr. W. D. Lysnar,. Special Commissioner, representing the frozen meat trade, and other trade representatives from the Dominion, visited Bristol yesterday (states the Daily News of November 14), and met at luncheon a large gathering of commercial men, including the Lord .Mayor, who gave the visitors a welcome.

sft\ Mackenzie said New Zealand's area of distribution must bo widened, and with that end in view lie was going to inspect Bristol Docks and should report on them to his Government. Mr. Lysnar, representing the New Zealand frozen meat trade, said they were not satisfied with the way in which the ■ trade was handled at London, and he had come to the conclusion that Bristol was one of the best .ports on which they could concentrate the great bulk of their trade. The equipment and general facilities at Avonmouth were a credit to the port, and should have attracted a, great deal more trade than they had done so far. Even when the facilities London was preparing were completed the advantage would still remain with Hristol. The city's commercial men must co-operate with them in obtaining a direct line to New Zealand. The Daily News understands that a company will shortly be floated in Bristol in connection with the proposed .important development of the New Zealand frozen meat trade.
