THE INSURANCE ACT. By Cable—Press Association--Copyright. London, December 29. The British Hospital Association has recommended that no persons insured under the Act be received as out-patients unless, on a doctor's certificate or aa an accident emergency. The Government has secured two thousand doctors towards the ten thousand required, to treat the twelve millions who, it is estimated, will be insured under the Act. The secretary of the British Medical Association states that members have not been absolved from their original pledge. Two additional members of the Medical Council have resigned, disapproving of the council's policy regarding the Insurance Act.
THE HOME RULE BILL. Received' December 301 11.25 p.m. London, December 30. Nineteen Trisli Unionist members of the ,House of Commons have written to Mr. Asquith that they intend to move on the Home Rule report for the exclusion of Ulster. The letter explains that while the exclusion of Ulster would not conciliate the Opposition, some grave considerations arose impelling them i,o move, the amendment. The vast body of Ulstormen, regardless of consequences, were prepared not to submit, and although the writers approve of the resistance against gross and unparalleled tyranny, they desire to avert the evils that can be foreseen, and they urge the. acceptance of the amendment, and solemnly waini the Government of the heavy responsibility of its rejection.
