The formation and metalling of Belt Road south of Elliot Road (estimated cost £25) will be embodied in the loan proposals. Mr. Pope is to be informed that the Council could not see its way to accept his offer of a septic tank site at the east end of Devon street.

It was resolved to call for tenders for the supply of 1205 yards of crushed metal for Leach, Gaine and Molesworth streets loan work, so as to enable the Borough staff to devote itself to securing maintenance metal in the summer months, and so avoid the necessity of carting metal over the roads in* the winter months.

The New Plymouth Harbor Board noI titled that it was unable to vest any portion of the. beach in the Council; but was willing to authorise the Council to act on its behalf in the control of the beach as a pleasure resort between Gover street and Nobs line until further notice—The -offer was accepted. Ci\ Mor»v referred to the fact that the steps of the new Deeds Office encroached on the footpath, and asked if steps could be taken to prevent it. He also referred to .he fact that the shed had been erected in the beach area. The Engineer was instructed to give the permanent levels at the intersection of Liardet and Courteray street. A lamp will be erected at the East End Bathing Reserve below the entrance beyond Autere street.
