Roumania is negotiating for two Chilian torpedo gunboats building in England, each at a cost of £265,000. Roumania offers £305,000 for immediate delivery. A DROWNING FATALITY. Rome, December 23. Nine children were drowned at Domodossola while skating. , 1 CINEMATOGRAPH FIRE. Brussels, December 23. v : A panic occurred in a cinematograph theatre at Barraques owing to a film firing. Twelve people were killed and twenty injured, mostly children. TELEGRAPHIC DELAYS. Sydney, December 23. Serious delays recently in telegraphic services are attributed by the operators to the working of the new schedule.

SYNDICATING NEWS. Sydney, December 23. The Sydney newspapers have initiated a system of syndicating certain classes of news, including shipping, commercial, mining and law court news. It is anticipated that the scheme will result in considerable reductions of the staffs.
