TARIFF REFORM.
A SPLIT IN THE UNIONIST CAMP. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, December 18. The Times states that a large section of the Unionists is averse to food taxes, preferring a referendum. A smaller section, estimated at 30 or 40 per cent., favor tariff control by the party machine. Lord Curzoii, speaking at York, said the supreme duty of the Unionist Party was to sustain the attack on the Government, ratlier than publicly to discuss what wheat or corn duty should be imposed at some future unknown date.
