THE CENTENARY CELEBRATION. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Received 19, 8.30 p.m. ■ London, December 19. A British committee for the celebration of the centenary of peace among English-speaking nations has been formed. The Mansion House has raised £60,000 for preliminary expenses.- The proposals include a monument to George Washington in Westminster Abbey, and the purchase of Sulgrave Manor (the ancestral home of Mr. Asquith).. Sir Edward Grey and Mr. Roosevelt wrote in support of the movement. The late Mr Whitelawßeid wrote on December 0 stating he hoped to attend, and adding that the movement could not be more opportune nor helpful to the peace of the world. Earl Grey, Lords Emmot and necessary in order to ensure a chain (where the Treaty of ISI4 was signed) were present.
