SCARCITY OF FARM LABOR.
HIGH COMMISSIONER ACTIVE. Consequent on the shortage, of form labor in the Dominion, Mr. J, I). Cruickshank, branch manager of the New Zealand Sheepfarmers' Agency, wrpte to the High Conmissioner ("the Hon. T. Mackenzie), nrtder date August 23, asking him if it was not possible to do something from the London end to relieve the pesition. The High Com nissiouer, writing from London on November S, says: —"I hnve to thank you for your letter of August 28, with regard -,o the scarcity of furm labor. I am using every endeavour to procure suitable farm hands fdr Xew Zealand, but there is so much competition for this class of labor amongst the various Dominions and Colonies that New Zealand can only obtain her portion of the emigration."
