By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. East A met North, scoring 191 and 118, to North's 227 (Bray 112). North won on the first innings by 36 runs. South easily beat Victoria College by ten wickets, scoring a three-point win. Hutt and East B played an exciting game, Hutt winning by the narrow margin of 16 runs. Central secured a three-point win over Petone, scoring 215 (Beechey 113) and 91 for one wicket (Naughton, not out 50) to Petone 199 to 101. Christchurch, December 15.

The weather was fine on Saturday for the fourth round of the grade matches. There was a hot sun and a cloudless sky. At Lancaster Park the grounds were in capital order, both wickets and outfields being fast and in favour of the batsmen.

After close and interesting games Sydenham got a small first innings lead over St. Albans, whilst Riccarton passed East Christchurch's meagre total with only four wickets down. West Christchurch appear In have Linwood under the whip, the latter requiring 90 with only two wickets in hand. Scores—Sydenham 180, St. Albans 103. VISIT OF A NEW SOUTH WALES' ELEVEN. A special meeting of the North Taranaki Cricket Association was held last night to consider the proposed visit of a New South Wales eleven to New Plymouth. The president (Mr. G. Grey) was in the chair, and delegates present were: Messrs. E. Whittle, W. P. Nieol, E. Lash, K. Rain, N. Arden, A. Hardin", Osborne, C. Laurie, N. C. Harding, and the secretary (Mr. Simpson). The Chairman read a private letter from Mr. Harding, the Association's delegate, in which it was mentioned that the New South Wales eleven which is to visit New Zealand had provisionally included New Plymouth in their itinerary. A guarantee of £SO was stipulated, and the date suggested was early in Tehruary. ' .

The offer was accepted, provisionally on the date not being fixed for show or race week. Messrs. Grey and Whittle undertook to shoulder the guarantee in the meantime, and liats will be issued for the purpose of obtaining guarantors for the amount. The unfinished: match. Ingle wood y. New Plymouth, will be concluded on Thursday.
