FOUND DEAD.
NORTH AUCKLAND MYSTERY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. .Samuel 11. .Sayers, county clerk, was found dead on .the road at Palii. The report to the police adds that a young man, David Dufl'aur. a bank clerk, who was in company with Sayers, is missing, and bank keys have been found on the Pahi wharf. It is supposed he committed suicide, in the Otauiatea river. Sayers and Dufl'aur resided at. Paparoa. Dufl'aur is a nephew of Percy Duffaur, of Auckland. He was 21 years of age, and was an ex-pupil of King's College, lie joined the National Bank about four years ago, and was transferred to Paparoa two years ago, performing the duties of clerk. DufTaur received a telegram stating that his nephew was missing, but it "throws no light on the mystery. MAD THROUGH SHOCK. Auckland, Monday. Meagre additional particulars from Pahi arc to the effect that Sayers was riding on the road when the stirrup broke and he fell from the horse and was killed. Dufl'aur sustained such a shock on witnessing the fatality that he became demented. Tt is presumed that lie drowned himself.
