ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
AN INDIAN DROWNED. By Teh-graph—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. A native of Inkia, known as Di, was fishing from a dinghy at Woody Bay. in company with throe other persons, when water tame over the stern and swamped the dinghy. All but Di swam ashore. It was then seen that the Indian was in danger of drowning. An attempt was made to reach 'him, but he sank and was drowned before any help could be rendered.
A 'MINER'S SUICIDE. Duneilin, Last Night. John Henry Stuart, a miner, was found dead by his daughter at his residence at Kyebum diggings, with a bullet wound in his forehead and a rifle alongside. It is supposed to be a case of suicide. Deceased leaves a family of eight, the youngest of whom is thirteen years old. THE PEA-RIFLE ACAIN.
Invercargill, Last Night. A teacher named Harold Isaac Selby. aged 35, was brought in from Otautriu district to-day, suffering from a wound in the head, inflicted by a pea-rifle. It is not know yet whether the occurence was accidental, but the wound may be serious.
