Received 10, 11 p.m. Calcutta, December 10. ; The trial of Dr. Clark, an officer of the medical department at Allahabad, Mrs. Fulham and a servant named Buanu for the murder of Mrs. Clark, has begun. Major Buchanan gave evidence that Mrs. Clark's daughter told him that she was awakened by her mother's screams. Sne saw two natives in her mother's room. One flourished a bludgeon. The daughter fled, and did not see her mother struck. Other ■ vid- nee was given that Clark was in the h.'bit of dining with Mrs. Fulham. <ihl did so on the night of the murder, but t old the police that he ■was at the railway station meeting a friend, and on returning home he found his bungalow locked and his wife unconscious. He added that his wife was ibad-tempered and constantly abused the servants.

A cable received on November 2!) stated that Mrs. Clark had been found with her head shatkred. It was first supposed that the act was due to burglars. Subsequently her hushand and a widow named Fulhain, with a native servant, were arrested. Mrs. Fulliam's husband died a year ago. It ia suspected that he was poisoned with arsenic.
