CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
AN ABORTIVE CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Associatiom. Invercargill, Last Night. The Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. Tnggs, held a sitting here to-day. In the painters' dispute the employers' assessors informed the Commissioner at the outset that they had been instructed to oppose the men's demands in toto. as they wore regarded as impossible. There was rather a heated discussion. The Commissioner stated that it was the class of employers sitting at the table who caused trouble in New Zealand, as they would not listen to a fair deal. The conference was abortive.
