MINISTERIAL.
A VISIT TO KAITANGATA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Kaitangata, Last Night. Today was a red letter day in Kaitangata. It was visited during the afternoon by three Ministers of the Crown —the Hon. J. Allen, Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes, and lion. Dr. I'oniare—and flags and bunting were flying in the principal street to mark the auspicious occasion. At half-past, two the lion. Mr. Rhodes opened the new Post Office in the township, and in the evening the Hon. Mr. Allen was entertained at a banquet by lis constituents of Kiatangata and the surrounding-districts. The Hon. Mr. Rhodes, Postmaster-General, announced that all negotiations arc now complete for the transmission of packages of fruit through the intermediary of the Post Office. He had, on the previous day, approved of the system, which would be brought into operation at the beginning of the year. A large number of details had necessarily to be arranged, but by that time the Department would have the new system in c;,;t:;■ictc working order.
