THE DEFENCE FORCE.
GENERAL GODLEY'S MEWS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. Major-General Godley, interviewed concerning a protest by the Duncdin Presbytery against tlie Sunday training of cadets, said no doubt a satisfactory arrangement would be arrived at. There had been no training of cadets on Sundays. If the forces were mobilised tomorrow, it wag perfectly certain they would have at ninety per cent, of the number of men posted, and there would be no difficulty in making up a hundred per cent. That would mean a total of 25,000 men. exclusive of senior cadets. The rille clubs had plenty of ammunition available, and the reserve was practically up to the total recommended by the Colonial Defence Committee.
