INTERESTING REPORTS. By Cable—Pross Association—Copyright. Received 4, 10.50 p.m. London, December 4. A trade report states that 901,980 were involved in strikes in 1911, constituting a record. The Labor Department's report shows that 133 profit-sharing schemes involving 106,000 workers survived, out of 300 started since 1894. The profits in 1911 represented an addition of 5y 2 per cent to the wages.
THE NEW SOUTH WALES ELECTIONS Sydney, December 4. The Labor Council discussed the Labor defeat in the municipal elections. One prominent member attributed it to Labor candidates having to carry the burden of the Government's wrong-doings as well ns that of the professional politicians. Because of this load, unionists did not vote solidly. This indicated the writing on the wall, and h<j predicted a sorry time for Labor members in the Parliamentary elections, unless they looked out.
