Silver, 29 9-16' d. Shares.—Waihi 31s 3d and 33s 9d, Junction 21s and 225, Talisman 355, Consols £75 12s Cd. AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES. Sydney, December 3. The wool sales at Sydney and Melbourne opened strong, with keen competition for all classes at full rates. The lata weakness had disappeared.
SYDNEY WHEAT MARKET. Sydney, December 3. Owing to the large quantity coming forward there was a big break in prompt delivery wheat, buyers declining to go bevond 3s Od.

(Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot):— Mutton.—The market is firm. Canterbury 4%d, North Island 4 1 /, d. Lamb.—The market is firm. Canterbury 5%d, other than Canterbury 5%d. Beef.—The market is steady, with 'an improved demand. New Zealand hinds 3y s d, fores 3d. Butter.—The market is' very unsettled, and speculative. There is a better .demand for best quality. Choicest New Zealand 115s to 118s, 'ordinary quality New i Zealand' lift? to 114s, Australian .110s, Argentine 108s, Danish 1295, Siberian 107s.
Cheese.—The market is stead}', and fair business is doing at lower prices. White 59s Od, coloured 60s 6d.
Hemp.—The market is steady, with an improved demand. New Zealand good fair grade £33, fair grade £3l 10s. fair current Manila £33 for any positions, The output,from Manila for the week amounted to 21,000 bales. Market is strong. :-.
LOAN & MERCANTILE CO|'S REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. and Reduced, have received the following cablegram from their London'house Under date November 20: , Frozen .meat—The market has slightly improved for beef; firmer for mutton'; but the enquiry for lamb is limited.

Other descriptions par to 3d per ewt. lower. Demand is very small. Rabbitskins—Strong demand; for furriers' top lots. Prices are rather dearer. Other descriptions 10 per cent, higher; cutters', 2d higher.
