DROWNED WHILE BATHING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A young man named Louis Neil, residing at Ponsonby, was drowned while bathing at Motuihi this nforning. Tie had been spending a week with a yachting party. A SUDDEN DEATH. Wellington, Last Night. Mary Sheehan, a hotel cook, a single woman aged HO, died suddenly on Saturday night at her lodgings in Elizabeth street. A SENSATIONAL RUNAWAY. Wellington. Last Night. On Saturday afternoon a horse bolted with a gig near the Public Library, but a telephone post, smashed the gig, audit careered into and up Cuba street. Thence it went across to Willis street, and down that thoroughfare in the busiest, part. It took to the footpath and struck an old man named Jas. Kirk, who was seriously injured and was removed to the hospital. In view of the number of people in the. streets, including many women and children, it is remarkable that no more were hurt by the runaway. Kirk's condition is hopeless.
