A UNIONIST'S SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Friday. Arthur Paterson, secretary to "the General Laborers' Union, committed suicido at the Trades Hall last night. He stripped himself and lay on the floor beside the gas ring, with the gas turned tt' c was oun d this morning dead He left a note with 'brief'directions as to his affairs; He had been in very bad health, and had been despondent for twelve months. At the inquest on Arthur Paterson a verdict w,as recorded that death was duo to suffocation by gas, but there was no evidence as to deceased's state of mind.
